Great News! Your child can get dental care at their school in April 2019!
Through Smile Pennsylvania, the district has arranged for the opportunity to have a licensed dentist during the school day, to offer your child dental care in familiar surroundings. Having your child seen by a dentist at school could save you valuable time. Care will be provided by local, licensed dentists in the familiar surroundings at one of Shippensburg Area School District schools. Dental care may include a complete exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride and sealants when needed. Restorative care, such as fillings and baby teeth extractions may also be provided.
There is no cost if your child is insured with Medicaid or CHIP. Most private insurances are accepted and for those without insurance, self-pay options are available. In the end, no child is turned away based on his/her ability to pay.
Please visit www.myschooldentist.com and complete the student permission form for your child. A paper permission form is available upon request at the office of your child’s school.
Through this program, the district is partnering with Smile Pennsylvania since taking care of your child’s teeth is an important part in keeping our children healthy!
