Latest News on the Stadium Project

At the April 23, 2019 Board Meeting, a presentation was made by JMT which gave us our first look at the design for the Multi-Purpose Stadium on the campus of Shippensburg Area High School.  The presentation focused on the construction of the Core Components, which are defined as followed:

  • Synthetic Turf Field
  • Track Resurface
  • Relocation of Field Events
  • Field Lighting
  • Grandstands/Press Box
  • Infrastructure

The presentation also provided an updated timeline for the completion of the project as presented below:


  • April – May:  Finalize the design
  • June – Sept.:  Agency approvals
  • Oct.:  Biding
  • Nov.:  Board Approval
  • Dec. – Feb., 2020:  Contracts
  • March – August:  Construction – completed in August, 2020


There was also discussion about Phase II of the project which includes restrooms and a concession stand.  It is anticipated that Phase II will be funded through private donations and Naming Rights.
