Superintendent Search – Shippensburg Area School District

 

Thursday, May 2, Briefing

The application period for the superintendent search has closed and the Board is now preparing to review the credential files of each candidate that applied.  From there, the Board will determine which candidates to interview in the first round.  As the Board moves through the candidate selection and first round interview process, we will also be determining how the search will unfold after we’ve concluded the initial interviews.  More details will be provided on this site.  Furthermore, the Board has had the opportunity to review the stakeholder comments that resulted from the focus group discussions conducted on April 16th.  We will be looking at the survey results in the very near future as well.

Wednesday, April 17, Briefing

The Board would like to thank everyone who participated in the Focus Group Discussions on April 16th.  The conversations were enlightening and very informative!  As mentioned before, we expect to utilize the feedback in the construction of interview questions, the  assessment of candidates, and even for the development of goals/objectives for the next superintendent as part of the performance evaluation process.  We are also launching a survey for those who were unable to make one of the sessions.  Please be looking for that survey very soon!

Monday, April 8th Briefing
The search for our next superintendent continues to move forward.  To ensure the appropriate involvement of all stakeholders in the process, the Board encourages all staff and community members to attend your designated Focus Group Discussion on April 16th.  The community discussion takes 6:30 to 8:30 PM in the High School Auditorium.  Our consultant, Mr. Tom Templeton with TEMPLETON Advantage, will provide us with a report on the feedback from the meetings.  Rest assured, all comments will be taken under appropriate advisement, and the results will be delivered to us in a manner that should give all participants the encouragement to be thoughtfully candid.  We expect to utilize the feedback in the construction of interview questions, the assessment of candidates, and even for the development of goals/objectives for the next superintendent as part of the performance evaluation process.  Please continue to visit this site for more details and updates related to the search.  We will make every effort to keep all stakeholders well informed as we move through this process!
