Transportation

Department Overview

At Shippensburg Area School District we strive to provide a safe and efficient environment to transport students to and from school. School transportation, although not required by law, is provided by Shippensburg Area School District. The Transportation department works to establish efficient routing, accurate student data, and a positive communication process for all families of the Shippensburg Area School District.

Transportation is provided for district students to and from school, field trips, athletics, out of district services and non-public affiliated schools. SASD works with multiple transportation companies to provide excellent service using an array of equipment to include 72-passenger buses, 30-passenger buses, wheel chair accessible vehicles, vans, and other specialized transportation vehicles.

The School Board Transportation Committee and Transportation Department is instrumental in reviewing policy and recommending changes, if deemed necessary to provide a positive transportation experience.

Audio/Video Monitoring

Shippensburg Area School District/Boyo Transportation buses are equipped with cameras. Activity on school buses is recorded using audio and video equipment.  SASD Administration will view the video footage as necessary to verify activity occurring on the bus.
